Application processing times
An unprecedented number of applications received by the Board in May and June will result in longer processing times for some applications. The Medical Board and Queensland Health Area Health Services have an escalation process in place which ensures applications for critical positions are processed with priority. General practitioner applications are still being processed within normal timelines.
If the Medical Board of Queensland did not receive your application for renewal of registration and registration fee before June 30, your registration will have expired.
You may apply for restoration of your registration by 30 September. An additional restoration fee of $100 will apply. A restored registration will commence from the date on which the Board makes its decision and cannot be backdated. The Public Register will be updated by the next business day.
The Medical Labourforce Survey, coordinated by Queensland Health, is distributed with general/specialist renewal notices each year. This survey gathers information from Queensland medical practitioners for data projection and workforce planning purposes.
The information gathered is supplied to the Workforce Analysis and Research Unit and the Client Services Unit within Queensland Health, the Office of the Medical Board and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. We strongly encourage your participation in the survey as the data collected may form the basis of policy decisions.
